About ENDARI
ENDARI is a medication to reduce the acute complications of sickle cell disease in adults and children 5 years and older. ENDARI is pharmaceutical grade l-glutamine oral powder that has been shown to reduce the acute complications of sickle cell disease in adults and children 5 years and older when taken as directed. ENDARI is available by prescription only.
ENDARI comes in a carton that holds 60 individually packaged sachets of ENDARI powder.
Each sachet contains 5 grams of oral powder that should be mixed with food or drink when taken. A dose of ENDARI can be 1 sachet, 2 sachets, or 3 sachets depending on the patient's weight.
Each dose of ENDARI should be mixed with 8 ounces of liquid or 4-6 ounces of food. View Taking ENDARI for more information on how to take your dose of ENDARI.
INDICATION
ENDARI is indicated to reduce the acute complications of sickle cell disease in adults and children 5 years of age and older.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
The most common side effects in clinical studies were constipation, nausea, headache, pain in the stomach area, cough, pain in hands or feet, back pain, and chest pain.
Side effects that lead to a stop in treatment during the clinical study were, one case each of overactive spleen (an organ that helps filter your blood), pain in the stomach area, indigestion, burning sensation, and hot flash.
It is not known whether ENDARI is safe and effective in children with sickle cell disease younger than 5 years old.
